Want to go for an epic drive? Then hop into your Prius and head on over to the Redwood forest of Humboldt County in California. Near the town of Fortuna exit onto Rt. 254, otherwise known as the Avenue of the Giants. This scenic 31 mile drive will wind through some of the most impressive Redwood trees that tower over all who drive by. While you are there you can visit some of the quirky sites like the drive-through tree or the immortal tree. You can also go hiking in Founder’s Grove. There are also a couple of small towns like Myers Flat (population 150) where you can grab a bite to eat or enjoy a cold beer. But the main attraction is, and will always be, the majestic giants along the road.
